This includes proper and well maintain housing, a clean environment and easy access to public services such as healthcare and education. In its duty to keep the urban center friendly for its residents, the Mayor and GLA normally suss out that the infrastructure in the area i s well planned and that waste is properly managed (Institute for Public Policy Research, 1997). It is also the duty of the place to ensure that open and public spaces remain as clean as possible so that the residents pile relax comfortably safely. Another important duty of the Greater London Authority and the Mayor is to ensure that the urban center operates by international environmental standards. Noise is also blighting many of the citys beautiful features. Most of this noise comes from the streets and the airports. According to the World Health Organization, at least 25% of Londons population is affected by noise that is way above the organizations standards (Greater London Authority, 2010).
